Sustaining Learning
New Major
Beginning fall 2010, UC Davis will offer a new undergraduate major in sustainable agriculture and food systems. It includes several innovative features designed to help students acquire the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to develop and work in more ecologically, economically and socially viable food and farming systems. The major will focus on three areas: understanding the academic aspects of sustainable agriculture, including the natural and social sciences and research methodologies; having real-world experiences in the field and through internships; and learning the skills to be a successful farmer, businessperson and researcher.
