Tahoe Environmental Research Center

Keeping Lake Tahoe blue has been the focus among some UC Davis researchers for nearly 40 years. At the new Tahoe Environmental Research Center—a building with Platinum LEED certification in energy efficiency—UC Davis brings together researchers from multiple disciplines to address the preservation of this alpine lake’s famous clarity as well as its plants and animals. The center also serves to educate the public about how both natural changes and human activity are affecting the lake.
